Getting There:

Mile Post 316.3 Blue Ridge Parkway
NC 221 North from Marion, NC and I-40
NC 181 North from Morganton, NC and I-40 to 183 South

Linville gorge in the Pisgah National Forest is home to many spectacular vistas that define the North Carolina mountains. Be sure to hike the trail to Erwin's view (.8 mi.) atop the ridge to absorb the entire scene. Take the trail on the left of the ranger station in the parking lot to see the right profile of the massive waterfall if you would appreciate the less frequented route. Again, if you are in the area, this is a must see attraction! An excellent destination for a day trip. True adventurers may want to drive to Wiseman's View, which is further into the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area where primitive camping is also allowed. Please pack-in and pack-out all of your trash and recyclables!
