Getting There:

• Take Hwy 70 East to Morehead City, NC and follow signs (turning Right) to Atlantic Beach.
• Continue North on Hwy 58 for roughly 5 miles.

History:

• Fort Macon was successful in protecting the Coast during the American Civil War. 
• The Union's initial siege was defeated on Dec 24, 1864.
• Today, Ft. Macon is a fabulous historical museum depicting the life and times of the soldiers that served our Country.
