| Located near MP 270 along the Blue Ridge
Parkway. The Cascades is an easy and level mile and a half round trip
hike through a wooded trail. There are twenty or thirty steps leading
down to the final path and overlook at the Cascade. The Parking Area has
great amenities including restrooms and shaded picnic tables making the area
an ideal attraction.
MP 270 is just north of the Hwy 421 intersection with the Parkway.
The level trail and parking areas amenities make it an excellent stop for
those with young kids. (We even managed the trail with an umbrella
stroller, having to carry it and an infant a few times) |
