All about Recreation....
It's All about Recreation and it's easily accessible. NC has thousands of miles of roads that criss-cross the state which makes 'getting here or there' half the fun. --Interstate 40 passes through the Great Smoky Mountains it'll take you through Asheville, Winston-Salem, Greensboro and Raleigh before depositing you just a few miles from Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington --Interstate 77 runs north-south through Virginia, Mt. Airy, Statesville, Lake Norman and Charlotte just before you enter into Rock Hill, SC en route to Columbia if you must... --Interstate 95 runs north-south as well--making the eastern part of the state most accessible as you pass through Roanoke Rapids, Wilson, Rocky Mount, Fayetteville and South of the Border--Tell Pedro we sent y'all! Call me crazy though, it's the old school NC State roads that bring you to the towns and adventures of a lifetime..... --Travel US Hwy 64 from Manteo to Murphy --Or take Hwy 421 from Wilmington to Boone or anywhere along that route --Explore the coastal communities along US HWY 17... --Don't doubt it until you've tried it, but there's something about enjoying that ride from Kitty Hawk down NC 12 South to Cape Hatteras....especially if you have time to hop the ferry over to Ocracoke for a day or three.......unless of course you prefer the twists, turns and undulations of The Blue Ridge Parkway, the Cherohala Skyway or the Tail of the Dragon. (NC 129--sure it's border is shared with TN but that's what neighbors are for in the first place)
NC may not have it all, I'm telling you it's got enough to keep you busy AND coming back for more!!:
